Neighborhood description
South Park is a gem of neighborhood located right next to Balboa Park and is centrally located in San Diego. Loved by locals, myself included, South Park sits on a hill above downtown, crossed with many canyons that provide walking trails through the trees that connect parts of the neighborhood. Incredibly green neighborhood with a beautiful variety of trees and flowers, filled with well preserved Spanish Style and Craftsmen homes built from 1910 to 1950. South Park has mostly independent businesses, many families and people of all ages.. North Park is one neighborhood over, 15 minute walk or 5 minutes by car, and is South Park's busier neighborhood with tons of breweries, restaurants and boutiques.
Getting around
You have a secure, gated private parking spot next to the guest house. San Diego is best explored by car, but there is a main bus line stop at the corner half a block away to take you to North Park or Downtown quickly.
