Our Riverside Cabin is nestled in a canopy of trees along the beautiful Barren River. This is a wonderful location for a romantic get-away, or for serenity seekers.
We don't have WiFi or cell service, so prepare for an unplugged experience, with nature thriving all around you. We insist our guests enjoy a 5 star experience, so if there's any accommodation you'd like provided, ask, and we'll do everything we can.
Our 750+ square foot cabin, with a studio layout, has large glass windows, overlooking the river, in the bedroom and bathroom that allow natural light to shine in. On a clear night the view of the stars is dreamy. Our space is equipped with a full kitchen (except oven), flat screen TV, 5 local channels, and a PlayStation 3 for watching movies or playing video games (there are a few provided). Enjoy amenities such as a full bathroom with a claw foot tub and 32" shower stall, king-sized memory foam bed, water-view dining (inside & out), campsite, bonfire pit (must purchase your own firewood), and a deck with a large table & four chairs. We do not provide a grill, so if you would like to grill out while at our location, you'll need to bring your own grill, grilling supplies, etc.
Our water frontage has a path cleared, so that you can take in all the river ecosystem has to offer. Perfect for taking a walk, a picnic, meditation, or whatever you'd like (just be careful, for your own safety). :)
Relax in a hammock (bring your own), jump in a kayak (bring your own), on-site camping available, fish from several accessible locations (you'll need a KY fishing license), enjoy the river view with provided binoculars through the floor to ceiling windows, or relax in the claw foot tub. There's something for everyone at this magical place!
Entering the River:
If you choose to enter the water, by signing this agreement and renting our place, you are indicating that you understand the inherent danger of the River, and you agree to enter the water at your own risk. There is never a life guard on duty, and enjoying the river by entering the water can be dangerous. The River's water level can rise rapidly, so be careful. There are posted signs that indicate the danger of the River (Swim at Your Own Risk), and we ask that you be mindful, and do not leave trash, nor throw debris into the water. There is a life vest located near the Swim at Your Own Risk signs, to use only in the event of an emergency. We suggest that you bring your own personally fitted life vests if you plan to enter the water.
A few things we ask:
Make yourself familiar with our cancellation policy. We are committed to keeping consistent with our cancellation policy, so as to treat all guests equally.
There is a FIRE EXTINGUISHER under the sink. Use it only if there is a fire emergency.
As mentioned above, we have an outdoor fire pit, but ask that you use wood purchased from a local retailer. This is in effort to preserve the forest on the property, and avoid the emerald ash borer from finding its way to our forest from wood brought in from different places.
Please do not chop wood on the stone patio, wooden deck, stairs, or concrete areas. If you do so, and damage the property, you will be held financially accountable. Please don't pour grease in the sink, please don't leave the cabin door open, please take off your shoes and leave them at the door, we do not allow pets, and please do not flush any toilet paper down the toilet (old septic - use the trash can provided for all bathroom paper products).
We have a Keurig, but do not have a traditional coffee maker. So, bring your K-Cups. =)
