A note about Derby bookings: Roseheights rents for a flat $25,000 fee for the week (weekly discount not applicable during this time). You may arrive any day during Derby week and depart either on Sunday or Monday following the Derby. Price will be adjusted to reflect this rate when accepting the booking.
Welcome to historic ROSEHEIGHTS, custom designed in 1901 by architects D.X Murphy and Brother of Louisville -- the same architects who built the famed Twin Spires at Churchill Downs. Previously owned by the Mayor of Louisville and Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, this prestigious home has been host to many U.S. political figures such as First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, Presidential Candidate Adali Stevenson and Presidents Truman and Johnson.
House features 5 huge bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 half baths. All three rooms on the second level (1 king, 2 queens) have private ensuite bathrooms, including the master which features a claw-foot tub and separate steam shower. Two bedrooms (1 queen, 2 fulls) on the third floor share a gigantic bathroom. The third floor also features a huge game room complete with pool table and oversize TV. Quiet, bright sun room on the first floor is the perfect location to read a book or sip coffee every morning. Large newly built private pool in beautifully landscaped backyard complete with Brown Jordan pool furniture and pool house (pool is not heated and is open from spring through summer -- usually late April through early September). Top of the line, gourmet appliances throughout the home. Lower level features a half bath, workout room as well as another family room with two single pull-out couches. Completely renovated from top to bottom, this is truly a unique estate.
High quality Frette bed linens and towels adorn each bedroom and bathroom. House is stocked with shower products (soap, shampoo, conditioner) bottled water and a Keurig and regular/drip coffee maker (coffee pods, tea, creamer and sugar), basic condiments and spices, dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc.
Situated on one of the most elite streets in the city, in prestigious Seneca/Cherokee Gardens neighborhood just blocks from restaurants, shops and bars, and just steps from famed Cherokee Park. Easy freeway access, close to downtown and airport and just a short 20 minute drive from Valhalla Golf Course or 15 minutes from Churchill Downs. If you're not familiar with Louisville, this is the 'happening' part of town -- you'll be just blocks away from some of the best restaurants in the city.
Rental of Roseheights will be limited to those in your group. No more than 14 people are permitted on the property at any time. Due to shared driveway, there may not, at any time, be more than 4 cars parked on the property. You may not allow any vehicle to block the driveway or neighboring driveways at any time -- this includes ubers, taxis, limos, busses, etc.
While we love children, children don't always love our house, therefore, we encourage families with children to look at properties that may be more child appropriate. We reserve the right to refuse rental to any party. Some groups may be asked to pay an additional cleaning fee or security deposit.
Note about weddings and special events/parties: While we are flattered that you think Roseheights would make a great venue for your wedding, rehearsal dinner, wedding brunch, bridal shower or special event, the property is not set up to accommodate these groups due to neighborhood and car restrictions. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to rent to bridal parties, bachelor or bachelorette parties.
Check-in -- 3pm (if house is not booked prior to your arrival, early check-in may be requested)
Check-out -- 11am (if house is not booked after your departure, late check-out may be requested)
Restaurant and "to do" list will be provided upon booking. Guests are also welcome to contact a private chef to cook for them during their stay. Reserved bookings assume acceptance of the above guidelines.
